Here we got a special edition of the 'bravo' magazine from 1984 with
an article about the hiphop scene back then. This edition has
stories, interviews and biographies on crews like Mr Robot,
Grandmaster Flash, Bao Bab, Rock Steady Crew, George "Bootsy" Clinton,
Jonson Crew, Afrika Bambaataa and a short instruction about
b-boying.
In contrast to the magzine style nowadays it is interesting to figure
out how the journalists reported about the different hiphop scenes
back that time.
If you recognize that edition of 'bravo' on some flea market or
used-book store you should cop it!
The book showed in the center is the hiphop booklet amongst the
headz. Ziggi Moondust and Rapneck Ossi report: About the streets and
clubs. About the music and people. About the hiphop wave, that
originated in new york and came up with the slogan "hiphop don't
stop" that was circling arround the world (Bastei Luebbe).
Another nice book i like to recommend the title 'rap attack' from
David Toop and 'yo! rap revolution' by David Dufresne. You can take
a look at the backcover of these books by clicking the image view
above.
